The difference was not significant, neither for the delay until first contact (Wilcoxon rank sums test: n _plugggd = 24; n _unplugged = 24; Z = -0.57; p = 0.57), not for the time between first contact and mating (Wilcoxon rank sums test: n _plugged = 24; n _unplugged = 22; Z = 0.51; p = 0.61).
