A transgenerational perspective focuses on the present, but also considers the past and projects the future. It is based on the fact that any point in time (see Figure 3) emerges from the growth and experience of the individual; this in turn, establishes the trajectory for the future. This perspective incorporates the individual's life stages, but also those of past generations.
