Mean plasma cortisol concentrations in juvenile brown trout (Salmo trutta) (N = 80, see Table 3) at 3 and 8 °C in the presence and absence of predatory burbot (Lota lota). Two-way ANOVA revealed that the presence of burbot had a significant effect on trout plasma cortisol levels (P < 0.01), regardless of temperature treatment. Error bars denote ±1 s.e
