Significance of correlation coefficients is calculated based on a conservative sample size of 30 (equal to the number of clutches included in the comparisons). Asterisks denote correlations with P < 0.05, while values in italics indicate correlation coefficients that significantly differed (P < 0.05) at the among- and within-clutch levels.
