SOR and Novelty depend on the amplitude change of the EOD. A. The baseline resistance prior to any switch was 10 Ohm. Note that both responses scale with the amplitude change of the dipole object, which corresponds to the amount of change in the local EOD amplitude. B. Scatter plot of the relation between the mean probability of evoking a SOR and the respective probability of the novelty response. Error bars in A give S.E.M. (N = 7). Data for both figures were obtained with the dipole-object being placed at the middle of the SO at a distance of 5 mm.
